by Alien Cosmos

The structure known as Wilson’s Arch is a huge causeway whose construction on the Temple Mount has been attributed to everyone from Herod to the Muslim caliphs. But no-one ever knew for sure who constructed it and when or whether it may even date back to the time of Solomon’s First Temple. Now a revolutionary radiocarbon-dating technique has been utilised which can pinpoint when monumental structures in Jerusalem’s Old City, including the famed Wilson’s Arch, were constructed. But does this mean we also know who constructed the enigmatic ancient edifice?
